Hey! I'm Kelsey
Â
I help high-performance volleyball athletes fuel properly with a simple, realistic nutrition framework; so their hard work translates into real performance gains and prepares them for the demands of the next level.
Let's be honest: you don't just want to play well in your next training session. You want a more powerful swing, an injury-free season, and the energy to perform in the 5th set with the game on the line.
Â
You know you're meant to play at the next level (whether that be college, provincial team, national team).Â
And you'd really love to know what it will take to help get you there.Â
And yet, when you spend even a few minutes Googling questions like, “what should I eat to get stronger” or “How to fuel for my volleyball tournament,” you’re met with an alarming amount of nutrition information from the gym bros, wellness influencers and the echo of your parents telling you to "get more protein" or "just eat healthy".Â
It's overwhelming and frankly, no one taught you what's best for YOUR BODY.Â
From saving a million social media posts trying to piece together a make-shift plan, to struggling to find enough time to implement any of it, you get frustrated and find yourself back at square one. Grabbing a protein bar as you run out the door and some takeout for lunch as you run to class.Â
Â
Here's where I come it...
We'll take the guesswork out of what to eat, weed out the misinformation, and give you a simplified, evidence-based fuelling plan.
Here's why I do what I doÂ
My story started as an overworked, exhausted multi-sport athlete in high school — and the undersized volleyball player (5'8" setter) who had to fight to get noticed. Most wrote me off. I believed in my skills anyway.
When I earned my spot on the UBC Thunderbirds, the winningest program in Canadian collegiate women's volleyball, it was a huge step up, and I was behind physically. I trained harder, but I'd plateaued — and couldn't figure out why.
Everything clicked when I volunteered with the UBC Sports Dietitian while exploring career options. During my playing career, food was an afterthought — something grabbed between classes, never planned around performance.
Exhaustion. Constant soreness. Poor recovery. A nagging ankle sprain that wouldn't heal.
Not because I was too weak. Because I was massively under-fuelled.
That's when I realized how misunderstood, overwhelming, and under-taught athlete fuelling really is — and how much performance gets left on the table without it.
In 2016, I went back to school to become a Registered Dietitian, graduating and passing the board exam in 2021 and working in the field for the past 5 years.
Â
Since then...
I applied evidence-based performance nutrition to my own strength journey as a former athlete, an I had an "aha" moment — now I have consistent energy, better recovery, and am unlocking new PR's on fewer training days a week than as a full-time collegiate athlete.
I simplified my own fuelling, cut the fluff, and focused on what actually moves the needle — while making it convenient enough to fit into a hectic schedule.
That was the difference I didn't know I needed.
Now, as a sport nutrition coach, nothing excites me more than helping athletes like you find it too.
Â
Â
But let's talk about what brought you here.
Hopefully it isn’t the "aha" moment after finishing your collegiate career like me.
Â
For you, it may be because you're ready to learn a simplified fuelling strategy to:
→ Spend less time worrying about what to eat and more time knowing you're supplying your body what it needs to thrive and not just survive a hard season
→ Have more time on the court winning games and less time sidelined with illness, injury, poor recovery
→ Fulfill your deepest desire to make the college roster of your dream school, knowing you can build the physicality to compete at the next level
(Yes, to all of the above!)
I take a science-backed approach to performance nutrition.
